AA British Insurance Premium Index: Car Insurance Premiums Up 2.4%

The most recent findings from the AA British Insurance Premium Index have shown that both car and home insurance premiums have increased yet again. Car Insurance premiums rose with comprehensive cover rising 2.4% and third-party, fire and theft by 1.4%. The average prices for these two car insurance policies are £629.04 for annual comprehensive cover and £628.60 for TPFT.

During the last quarter, the average house insurance premium has risen by 1.4%, making an annual policy costing around £219.60.

The AA Index took the averages of premiums from up to 85 car and 37 home insurance schemes based on a basket of 1,000 car and 750 home risks.
