Being Part Of A Couple Can Lower Your Insurance Premium

Never again will you moan about your other half when you realise that being a couple could save you money when it comes to car insurance. Sainsbury’s Bank has revealed that couples taking out a joint policy could be beneficial as car insurance premiums are becoming more expensive.

TescoCompare.com have found that 65% of cohabiting and married couples pay more than they should for their car insurance because they haven’t told their insurance provider that they are living together.

By adding your partner as an additional driver on your policy you could save on average £100.

A spokesperson for TescoCompare.com has said,

“There are many things drivers can do to lower their annual car insurance premium and adding your partner can be a very effective way of cutting costs.

Car insurers assess the individual risk profile of each customer and couples living together typically carry a lower risk, resulting in lower premiums.”

TescoCompare recommend that people check their current policy and make sure it offers the most competitive deal for their particular circumstances, particularly if they’ve changed since they first took out the policy.
