Companies Liable for Employees Using Mobile Phone & DrivingApril 23rd, 2007

Employees have a lot of rights and it is fair to say that they should but when you hear stories like this it really makes me mad at the way the law works.
Companies try and build their business and help give a job and money to people and then if an employee is driving while working for the company and uses their mobile phone (which is illegal and not what the company wants) then the company could be liable.
This is according to a report and regulations put in place on February 27th 2007 by the Department for Transport, and I agree that a way for businesses and companies to avoid this is to supply their staff with hands-free kits for use while driving.
Some car insurance customers may know all too well that using a mobile phone while driving can give you a £60 fine and a three point licence penalty.
What do you think? Should companies be in trouble if their employees use a phone while driving?

No a company should not be to blame, but if the company does not tell all not too and even put stickers in the car then they should be liable.
