Fithteen Per Cent Rise In Car Accidents In The WinterJanuary 15th, 2008

Across England motorists have been warned to be extra careful when driving at the moment due to bad weather after a serious collision on the A12 involving two motorbikes when one rider lost control of his bike and the other took action to avoid it.
A police spokesperson has said, “The roads are still quite damp in places at the moment and they can get slippery because of the grit that has been put down. We would encourage people to take extra care.”
Leading car insurers Churchill have revealed that there is a 15% rise in car accidents during the winter months. This is due to the hazardous weather conditions such as mist, fog and floods.
Motorists are advised to perform checks on tyres, lights, wipers, brakes and anti-freeze levels frequently to reduce the risk of accidents. By taking these measures you can ensure you keep your car insurance premiums lower during winter.
