Hidden Car Insurance ChargesMay 1st, 2007
Insurers love to keep profit high and costs low and experts believe millions of motorists are being ripped off by hidden charges which give insurers over £200m a year more income.
What a survey has found is that many motorists have to pay for basic services as an extra (which in many cases is over £150) and this is netting the big insurers a lot of money.
It has been said that big name car insurance companies lure drivers in with a nice low annual premium and do not make it clear to you that you will get charges of up to £50 for services that are in the small print (now we know why they call it small print).
Some of these extra (basic but costing services) include things like simply changing address following a house move, changing vehicle, arranging a courtesy car and driving abroad.
Is it really fair that with more than 1 in every 10 adults moving house each year that the car insurance companies get to make big profits by charging us for this (which really does not cost much at all).

We will leave you to comment, but remember to check the small print.

Give the insurance companies a break, all businesses have to make money and they do this by charging you for services.
Just shop around and choose what’s right for you.
