Many companies think profit line and not too much about the consumer and this is another such case.
It’s called small print in our eyes for one reason and that’s to make it small and hard to read, as that’s just what happen to Mr Rutherford who did not read the bit in the small print which said “Only Insured to Drive another Vehicle in an Emergency”
So the other car he drove was not covered even after taking the company in question to the Financial Ombudsman.
This means that insurers could begin to crack down on drivers who get behind the wheel of their friend’s car, following the ruling made by the Financial Ombudsman.

I have always had this option on my car insurance but have never thought to read all the small print.
I think we all should look a bit harder in future.
